NAGA CITY, Philippines – Five Ateneo BS Entrepreneurship students made it to the Coca Cola’s Isip Happiness, Make it Happen Contest.
This event is Coke’s tribute to their 100 years of bottling in the Philippines. Organizations and group of students are encouraged to register and submit entries according to their chosen type of event. Categories include Environmental concern, Community based, promoting Education, and Livelihood. Through online submission, Coke gathered participants’ entries nationwide.
When the contest was launched in September 2011, Coca Cola’s aim was an innovation of recycled materials with a touch of Coke.
Jonna Mae Azurin, Ma. Sheenalyn Diaz, Maricris Morano, Loriely Rivero (3 BS Entrep) and Xaviera Marie Revereza (4 BS Entrep) were the members of the group who represented Ateneo Young Entrepreneurs (AYE) in the Coke’s Isip Happiness Contest. They are under the school cluster of the Southern Luzon group.
AYE’s entry was a bag that is made out of Coke bottle crowns. Revereza said that it was part of their A-earth project which mostly about recycling and reusing materials.
“After submitting we were contacted to give a photo essay with a brief description of Coke products,” shared Revereza. She said that her group was not notified about the voting page for the entries that started 9 January and ended on the 20th until their product ranked second among several number of entries.
“Ugma kami na nakasali kami sa nationals and at the same time ma-declare na second sanumber of votes.” Revereza added.
She said that joining the contest was a good thing, and they are grateful to those who helped, supported and informed them about the initial result. “Naghahalat na lang kami ningfinal results, and hopefully makalaog,” she ended.
